Sister Nelisiwe Mtolo is a Paediatric Palliative Care Nurse who has vast experience in Paediatric Nursing. Sr Nelisiwe has over 15 years’ experience as an Operational Manager in a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. She attained a Diploma in General Nursing, Midwifery and Critical Care Nursing; Bachelor Advanced Practice in Nursing Education; Bachelor Honours Degree in Nursing Management. Since her retirement she has embraced palliative medicine, and she has recently passed her Certificate in Palliative Care for Children through Palliative Treatment for Children South Africa (PatchSA). Nelisiwe joined Umduduzi Clinical Services in 2023. She is passionate about working with pregnant moms and plans of doing a course in Perinatal Palliative Care to assist moms who are pregnant whose babies have received a difficult diagnosis and those who have delivered their baby and have received a difficult diagnosis. Although Sr Nelisiwe is retired, she finds that her passion for patients with serious illness and a life threatening diagnosis are close to her heart. We are so glad she is part of our team.
