Sister Duduzile Dlamini is a patient-centered nursing professional who has almost years 50 years of nursing in her career with a wide range of experience from midwifery to paediatrics and palliative care both locally and internationally which is her current role at Umduduzi. A professional nurse who initially worked as an Enrolled Nurse and then went on to obtain a Diploma in General Nursing Science and Midwifery. Duduzile has always pushed herself and managed to obtain further certificates in AIDS/HIV Counselling, Nurse Initiate Management training course and Safeguarding for Managers of Care Service with her latest enrollment being for a workshop in Perinatal Palliative Care. She also did a one-year course in Palliative Care for Children. Her work history includes working in Osindisweni, Mahatma Gandhi and Inkosi Chief Albert Luthuli where she worked as a Midwife and Paediatric Nurse. Her international experience was at Horton Cross Nursing Home in the UK where she worked as Clinical Lead Professional Nurse. Dudu is currently enjoying her role as a Palliative Care Professional Retired Nurse as this gives her an opportunity to combine all her experience over the years and continue to learn and grow in her field. She looks forward to assisting families, especially mothers, in educating them about their children’s condition and ensuring they are able to access the appropriate care required for their children.
